19th century, a pair of porcelain hat stands with quatrefoil reticulated openings, hand painted in famille palette with scholarly figures in outdoor and interior environments, each figure finely painted and identified with calligraphy inscription, drilled and set into wooden mounts, single lightbulb fitting, matching carved red cinnabar lacquer finials, come together with fabric lampshades.

Good estate condition; hat stands drilled for lamp fitting; hat stands not examined outside of the mounts; some loss to gilt at openings and rim; one with minor chip to foot rim; mount is a little loose on one.
