(London: Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, 1830s-1840s), approximately 200 steel-engraved folio maps are bound within marbled boards having a calf spine and a manuscript key to the contents tipped to each front cover. The entire globe is represented in great detail from the hemispheres down to the major cities. Also included are several historical maps showing European and Near Eastern regions (and some cities) in ancient times.

Most maps are embellished with outline coloring.

The covers are heavily worn, stained and chipped; most of the tissue endpapers are also stained and heavily creased; the binding remains tight, however, with the leaves being moderately toned; only a very few maps are damaged from damp stains and/or foxing; the more popular maps of the English-speaking nations are spared problems, overall the covers are fair whereas the internal pages remain in good condition.
