The Private Collection of a Lady

This monumental work has long been recognized as a pioneering scientific masterpiece having considerable artistic merit. Of particular delight to readers, past and present, is the celebrated plate showing a skeletal figure standing before a lumbering rhinoceros. This creature, the first of its kind seen in Europe, was sketched from life in Amsterdam by Wandelaar.

Rub and corner bumps to covers; some scattered spotting to text; a few light damp stains (mostly on final text pages); sound binding; internally clean overall.
