5th-6th century A.D., removed from a shroud or tunic, the work consists of a plain linen base decorated with repetitive elements rendered in wool thread dyed a deep red-brown. The design features a parade of octagonal medallions amid tree of life motifs, each open area inhabited by a schematic lion with a small bird above, this central register being placed horizontally between geometric borders. Presented behind a coarse fabric mat under glass in a gilt wooden frame.
