A Similar Pair of French Ormolu Mounted Marble Top Side Tables

Early 20th century, made in Paris, both constructed of mahogany and exotic woods, with mottled marble tops; the first table has a single full width drawer inlaid with banded mahogany in a scroll design above an open parquetry inlaid shelf, stylized cabriole legs, gilt bronze mounts throughout; the second table of conforming style but with a pair of reeded cabinet doors enclosing two shelves. Each drawer with plaque reading "Ebenisterie-Bronzes Haentges Freres Fabricants 6 Rue Titon Paris."

33 x 21 x 13.5 in.

Reputed to be purchased from the Randolph Hearst estate.

Haentges Brothers have been said to have worked with Maurice Dufrene (1876-1955) and operated a prominent workshop in Paris.

Table with doors has a horizontal shrinkage crack to lower right panel; minor nicks to marble.
