Late 18th century, oak, featuring a swan's neck pediment terminating in brass rosettes, central finial, above an arched door with light wood inlay which encloses a brass face with applied gilt brass foliate decorations, time and chime wind, date aperture, seconds dial, signed Thomas Winstanley Wigan. The case is enhanced with dentil molding above a three-sided fretwork frieze over the shaped waist door which is flanked by spiral quarter columns, flush base. With weight, case key, winding key, pendulum.
