The first frame (11 x 14 in.) contains three dug relics to include two cavalry shoulder scales, an eagle "C" button retaining partial gilt and a an iron identification plate stamped "Q.M.D." for Quartermasters Department; the second frame (18 x 25 in.) displays a shell-struck Model 1851 sword belt plate, a US oval, an eagle breast plate, three iron locks, a shortened bayonet, a butt plate, iron stirrup, a Gardner .58 bullet, a three-ring .58 minnie, a carbine round, a button back, barbed wire, non-dug spur, a GAR ribbon for Co. A, 1st Nebraska Cavalry (1863-1866) and a 1905 GAR encampment medal/ribbon for the Department of Oklahoma. The back of the large frame is inscribed with a wifely endearment.
