Dubbed by the New York Times as a "palace of jewels" and "monster iron building," 15 Union Square was commissioned by Charles Lewis Tiffany and designed by John Kellum. Tiffany & Co. operated from these headquarters from its opening in 1870 until 1906, when they moved uptown to their current building at 37th and Fifth Avenue.
