19th century, signed on the bottom, a finely crafted joyful barrel maker and child, tools of his trade behind him and inside the large barrel form he is crafting.

4 3/8 in.

Similar to the Meiji period barrel maker okimono by Koichi in the collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Good condition; spot to bottom where previously glued to something and that material has come off and stuck to bottom of okimono; also close by a spot of dark yellow hardened glue.
