This painting is after a photographs by Emmons of Joann G. True (1823-1901) of New Portland, Maine. In addition to this painting, the image exists as a glass plate negative, a hand-colored glass lantern slide, a photo print (published in her book "The Old Table Chair") and also as an oil painting currently in the Maine State Museum collection.
