18th-19th century, Nepal, copper alloy and brass with gilding and inlaid beveled turquoise, the Bodhisattva is seated in quiet meditation with two front hands in prayer and the other two hands holding a lotus blossom and a strand of beads, he has an elevated top knot with flaming finial, and his crown, earrings and other jewelry are inlaid with turquoise, his feet show the sign of the wheel on each, just like the Buddha, raised on a double lotus base with small beaded detail on the top and bottom, bottom has a wooden cover to base that is open on one side and contains an orange piece of fabric.

Given to Stewart Edwards by the Royal family of Nepal for his service and friendship in the late 1950s

Good condition with some rubbing and loss to gilding especially on the legs and the lower back; a repaired section around the center of sculpture by belt with some loss right in the center front of the belt.
