In 1777 Dr. Hugh Smith introduced a pottery bubby pot for use in his own family. It resembled a small coffee pot with a perforated spout. Transfer ones were purchased by the affluent and creamware pots by the less affluent.

Small nick to edge finial; small rim chip; good condition for age and use.
