The first, pencil on paper, showing soldiers and artillery in the yard of a Virginia home, a verso inscription reads, "Dr. Ball's House as it looked Sunday Oct 22 1861 at 5 oclock P.m. by our special artist Lieut R Shull / Prospect Hill Fairfax Co Va now Headquarters of Company B pickets 9th Regt PRVC," in wooden two-sided frame (DOA 8.75 x 10.75 in.) (age toning, light stains); "59th Band Qts / Front of Petersburg / sketched by G Braunan (sp?)," pen and ink wash on cut-out paper, shows federal tents and men among the trees, in periof wooden frame (DOA 9.25 x 10.5 in.) (fine condition; chipping to the frame).
