19th century, serpentine form with conforming molded marble top, kingwood and other exotic veneers with gilded ormolu bronze mounts, moldings, and applique figures throughout. Two cabinet doors each enclosing two drawers, the cabinet doors outlined in ormolu ribbon centered with roundel and stiles with a child riding an animal, the side panels with classical roundels; the whole raised on cast ormolu ram's mask cabriole legs. In the manner of Charles Cressent.

Reported to be a copy of one made by Gavdreau for the King's Cabinet des Medailles at Versailles. Possibly by Beurdeley or Bassent.

Crack and repair to back left marble; hinged break out and repair to both doors; case with later plywood to top and bottom; veneer chipping and loss to areas of front; large shrinkage crack to left and right side panels.
