Circa 1850, of circular domed form having elaborate millefiori ground and two facing doves centered to the work, border of twisted wire work, completed with original C clasp and pin stem; earrings en suite with a single dove to center, unsigned. Both pieces test for 18KT gold and a mark to the pin stem of the brooch appears to be a French assay mark. Presented in a 19th century Japanned decorated retailer's box "Dreyfous of Paris, London, and New York" from whom the set was most likely purchased.
