Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Circa 1970, manufactured by The French Company under special license for Louis Vuitton and retailed through Saks Fifth Avenue, the bag designed in the weekender style composed of classic monogram canvas with caramel colored trim, the front of the bag having a large separate compartment, the main interior in a simple duffel style lined in dark brown cotton, completed by a shoulder strap and double handle, the front of the bag having an oval plaque with monogram "R.B." embossed in black as well as a tag engraved "Saks Fifth Avenue".

10 x 17 x 9 in.

Due to the increasing demand for Louis Vuitton products in the United States by the 1970s, Louis Vuitton contracted out the French Company, an American based firm, to produce Louis Vuitton luggage and handbags under special license within the United States and sell them through high end department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. This partnership lasted until the early 1990's.

In good condition overall but with signs of wear throughout, particularly to caramel colored trim and some small white markings to the monogram canvas; the leather pull on the zipper is deficient; main compartment re-lined; slight scent of smoke when opened.
