French, strongly attributed to Christian Dior, circa 1950, probably designed by Roger Jean-Pierre and made by Francis Winter, designed in the early 19th century style, set with round rhinestones in elaborate dog tooth settings, suspending a large pear shaped rhinestone and flanked on either side by two stylized sections, each of which detaches to be worn as a brooch, the clasp stamped "Made in France", otherwise unsigned.

Similar necklace featured in the book "Christian Dior, 1905-1957, 1987, p. 189" by Giroud. An exceptionally rare necklace, this choker with detachable clip brooches is one of the finest examples of very early Dior bijoux to come onto the auction market.

In excellent estate condition with normal, expected wear associated with careful use.
