Driving the sun chariot drawn by four prancing horses, the god, holding gold thread reins, is seated amidst radiating shafts of light and swirling clouds, accompanied by a putto, the molded shaped base highlighted by a running laurel, bottom twice marked with pommel crossed swords, made in two sections, one impressed 31 and the other impressed 34. According to Greek mythology, each day Apollo would drive his chariot of fiery horses across the sky to give light to the world.

Restoration to left half of sun rays; repair to two hoofs; small area of fill to clouds at right of front center; various chips to leaves; scepter broken but present; one horse with one detached broken leg but present; hairline to arm. No other restorations were noted with black light examination although some may be present.
