Oil on canvas, signed at lower left "Hilda Lanier Ogburn," charming Greensboro scene with parade goers lined up below the American Exchange National Bank Building at the corner of Market and Elm Streets, likely painted circa 1930-1938, presented in a later frame with linen liner.

The American National Exchange Bank, built in 1919, was Greensboro's first skyscraper and is currently undergoing a renovation returning it to the state seen in this painting. Miss Ogburn was born in Guilford County to Thomas Jefferson Ogburn and Nannie Davidson Ogburn. She was both a fine and commercial artist. She taught classes in the 1930s at the Greensboro Art Center and was hired as the first fulltime director for the Greenville Museum of Art founded in 1939.
