French, Autumn 1995, probably couture and designed by Karl Lagerfeld for the runway, designed as a massive six point star centering on one very large plum colored round Gripoix glass cabochon, surrounded by (6) hardstones, each carved to resemble a point of the star, the brooch further embellished with leather chain link detail edges and round aqua and red rhinestones, the back completed by a very unusual crossover double pin closure, stamped "Depose" to the reverse as well as fully signed on an oval plaque near the bottom of the closure.

Due to the large size, very detailed construction, and unusual closure, we believe this piece to be intended specifically for the runway, and was most likely one of very few examples ever produced.
