Circa 1960, designed as a roaring male lion composed of wonderful multicolored enamels in shades of cream, black and brown, the eyes each set with a small round ruby, mounted in stamped 18KT yellow gold and stamped "Italy" indistinctly on pin stem.

Estate of the late Dr. Stewart Penfold Blake of Palo Alto, CA and Charlotte, NC Stewart Penfold Blake (Col. USArmy Ret.) was a proud soldier, superb story-teller, lover of music from Mozart to Benny Goodman, gracious host, wine connoisseur and knowledgeable art lover. Among his many proud accomplishments were his design of the test track for Porsche in Stuttgart, Germany and his design for carrying Venezuelan oil from the fields to the sea. His estate represents his life in appreciation of history and diverse cultures.

In excellent condition with only the slightest traces of enamel wear seen under magnification.
