Circa 1890s, consisting of eight (8) woodblock triptychs, being a total of (24) individual prints, these laid down on a long roll of paper with additional fabric backing at one end, the various scenes are dominated by kabuki actors portraying geishas, samurai warriors, military men in Western uniforms and, possibly, royalty.

Estate of the late Dr. Stewart Penfold Blake of Palo Alto, CA and Charlotte, NC Stewart Penfold Blake (Col. USArmy Ret.) was a proud soldier, superb story-teller, lover of music from Mozart to Benny Goodman, gracious host, wine connoisseur and knowledgeable art lover. Among his many proud accomplishments were his design of the test track for Porsche in Stuttgart, Germany and his design for carrying Venezuelan oil from the fields to the sea. His estate represents his life in appreciation of history and diverse cultures.

Light aging throughout; some splits to the mount; fraying to the fabric; the colors remain bright an vibrant. Overall very good condition.
