Worked on open weave linen in multi-colored silk thread, with alphabet and number bands and pious verse enclosed within a strawberry border with an outer block border, "Mary (?) was born Nov 1 1820" stitched in bottom register. Of interest, it appears that Mary later returned to her sampler and changed the year of her birth - the "20" is stitched in red while the "18" is worked in gold. Presented in a molded wooden frame.
