Mid 19th century, mahogany and mahogany veneers, oak secondary wood, having a white marble top above a single flush drawer with cutlery divisions, above two cabinet doors enclosing a shelved interior, flanked by fully turned columns with ormolu mounts terminating in block plinths. The metamorphic aspect is revealed when the marble top slides forward and collapsible shelves are raised from a posterior cavity.
