American Silverplate Epergne Centerpiece

Late 19th century, the underside marked Meriden & Co., "Quadruple-Plated" and numbered 1034. This ornate Victorian accessory has a central support anchored by two cupids seated above a pierced central medallion hosting a garden scene, the primary well is decorated with applied floral motifs. Cranberry glass bowls with paint and enamel decoration complete the composition. Included are (2) 20th century silverplate candlesticks marked by James W. Tufts, Boston. Each of these depicts a cupid stalking a pheasant and comes with a cranberry glass shade (15 in. HOA).
