Housed in the likely original period gilt wood frame with applied ornament, an old typed label on verso reads "Painting / Family Group / Canvas 25 x 29 in., / Sir David Wilke (sic), R. A., Scottish / 1788-1841" and inscribed "Purchased Oct. 11, 1955" in pencil.
