Oil on canvas (lined), Anglo or American school, unsigned, half-length portrait of a gentleman in a wig and holding a pipe to his mouth, a later label on the verso attributes the painting to Gilbert Stuart, housed in a period (possibly original) gilt frame with deep cove molding and later gold paint.
