Pichai Nirand was born in 1936 in Bangkok and attended Silpakorn University. Widely respected, Nirand exhibits throughout the world and has won numerous awards throughout his career including the Gold Medal (Painting) at The 14th National Exhibition of Art in Bangkok and Maha Chanok Gold Medal awarded by H.M. King Bhumipol. Nirnd started out as an expressionist and surrealist artist and later emerged as a powerful painter of Buddhist themes.
