Carl Julien of Greenwood, SC was a prolific Southern photographer. He illustrated several books including Beneath So Kind a Sky, Sea Island to Sand Hills, Pee Dee Panorama, Architects of Charleston, Song of the Cotton Picker, and Seed from Madagascar. He also mentored fellow photographers by addressing the Camera Club of Charleston at the Gibbes Art Gallery.
