As follows: 1) U. S. 3-cent stamp tied with target cancel and Sandusky, OH cds, December 24, 1864, "Prisoner's Letter Examined / Johnsons Island" handstamp to left, addressed to Gowanda, NY, glue residue from hinges on back, censor's impression is weak and shaky. 2) Hand-carried cover from "R. J. Sifford / prisoner of war / Co G 52nd NC Vols" to Catawba Springs, NC, marginal stains. Robert J. Sifford enlisted in Lincoln Co., NC on April 10, 1862 and was wounded at Gettysburg the following year. Displaying an incredible resolve to survive, Sifford was incarcerated at Point Lookout from November, 1863 until signing a parole on May, 14, 1865. 3) ADS, one page, 3.25 x 5.75 in., occupied Fairfax County, VA, September 4, 1861, a Federal Lieutenant signs a pass for two citizens traveling from Fairfax Station to Flint Hill. Minor areas of loss along margins.
