Oil on canvas, second half of the 19th century, depicting a mother and sleeping child under the watchful eye of a heavenly angel painted in a feigned oval, unsigned, the verso stamped "Masury & Whiton / 111 Fulton St. / New York / General Depot for / Artists Materials," faintly marked "No. 9," housed in the original gilt wood frame with composition ornament and gilt wood liner.
