The Collection of Mrs. Virginia Ferguson Leach, Cohasset, MA

Started in 1940 by Wook Moon, Ming's of Honolulu was one of the finest jewelers in the western United States for almost 60 years, specializing in fine jewels made out of both gold and silver and often using stones such as jade, pearls, and ivory. The present brooch, inspired by both Asian and Hawaiian motifs is particularly fine because it is an early piece that captures the effortless style which Ming's was so widely known for. Ming's unfortunately closed its doors in 1999, but at its height, held 7 stores all over the United States.
