The first with central rose medallion and colorful triangular points, with navy blue border, signed "Barbara V.B.L. 1966," 3'2" x 1'10"; the second with geometric design in colors of gold, purple,and blue, with green backing, some edge fraying, 3'1" x 1.5"; both rugs were made by Viola Blanche Davis Lewin (1879-1980) of Royersford, PA., whose granddaughter remembers her "in her basement, dyeing shredded wool made from discarded clothing," and it is with this wool she hooked her rugs, a hobby she began at age 80.
