Estate Collection of Pete & Betty Snow, Historic Hennigan Place, Matthews, North Carolina

Alice Northrop, grandmother of the consignor, was asked by Helen Gould to live with her at Lyndhurst as companion after Jay's death in 1892. Eventually, after Helen's marriage to the consignor's grandfather, Charles Snow, the families built side by side houses in Roxbury, NY. Helen gave Alice many gifts of items original to Lyndhurst, including this rug.

Overall even wear; fraying and loss to the corners; oxidation of the brown yarn; several tears extending inwards from the edge.
