Published in Japanese, before 1945, the first has a penciled translation on the title page stating the book was edited by Masaji Tomita and published by Ritsumeikwan. Over 200 sword blades are rendered with line drawings clearly showing signatures, haman patterns and decoration. Card covers; twine binding; the second book is approximately 200 pp., 8vo, with paper wraps. Although blades are illustrated, the book's content is primarily text.
