Compartmentalized leather wallet, 4.5 x 8.5 in., containing over (100) notes issued by various Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia banks, as well as by the Confederate central government. The earliest pieces are from the 1850s, with most of the collection being of Civil War vintage. Included are (16) CSA notes; (76) Virginia notes representing locales such as Richmond, Augusta, Charlottesville, Howardsville and Lexington; (10) Georgia notes from Augusta and Savannah; (4) South Carolina notes from Charleston and Columbia.

The wide variety of notes almost suggests that this was a collection.

Conditions range from poor to fine. Defects include browning, wear, soiling, folds and splits.
