Oil on canvas, signed lower left "C. F. Haseltine," housed in the original paint decorated frame. Haseltine graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1859. In addition to success as an artist, he was also a well-known art dealer in Philadelphia. Thomas Eakins was one of the artists he represented and "Gross Clinic" and "Agnew Clinic" were both first exhibited at his gallery.
