Miss Kenyon studied at the Art Institute of Chicago under Frederick Freer. She found success early as a calendar artist for the Gerlach Barklow Calendar Company of Joliet, IL. Interestingly, the company initially asked her to only sign with her last name, as they felt their audience would not accept work by a female artist. Her success continued and she later began signing with her full name.
