19th century, the first of nailed construction with red wash to pine surface, divided interior (probably used as a till), overhanging lid (6.75 x 13 x 7,75 in.); the second box is grain painted with applied contrasting molding to lid and base (8.5 x 13 x 8.5 in. ).
