The Prussing Estate

Born in Rochester, NY, Hagaman began his artistic career as a sign painter. He was close friends with the noted impressionist Frank Vincent Dumond who encouraged him to enter the Art Students League in New York City. Hagaman then traveled to Paris and studied at the Academie Julian, exhibiting twice at the Paris Salons. He returned to the United States in the mid-1890s and enjoyed success as a painter until becoming embroiled in a salacious murder case in 1910.
