Circa 1875, two-handled flattened form, hand-painted to both sides with floral decorations beneath an Arabic inscription, the base with enameled J. & L. Lobmeyr mark and further enameled Der Wille Gottes geschehe (The will of God may happen).

Ludwig Lobmeyr was the first Austrian glass manufacturer of the 19th century to recreate the enameled decoration perfected for centuries in the Islamic world. Examples from this series are housed in the Corning Museum of Glass and were recently featured in a special exhibition this year at the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization titled Orientalist Glass Art – Masterpieces from the Museum of J&L Lobmeyr, Vienna.
