Attributed to Duncan Phyfe (1770-1854), New York, 1810-1820, mahogany and mahogany veneer, ash secondary, the crest rail is centered with a figured mahogany veneered panel below a trio of carved leaves, flanked by acanthus carved ears, each having applied stacked disks at the sides. The pierced central back splat features relief carved rosettes, the molded down-swept stiles are continuous to form the front saber legs, with slip seat.

Four chairs in poor condition (one with broken leg, one with broken and lost upper crest and a total of four missing ears). The other six chairs in good condition; two chairs with break and repair at leg joints; one ear missing rosettes; all need to be re-upholstered.
