Marshall, John. The Life of George Washington, Commander in Chief of the American Forces During the War Which Established the Independence of His Country, and First President of the United States. (London: Printed for Richard Phillips,1804-1807), five volumes, octavo, matching full calf, gilt bands and title on spines; sixteen (16) engravings are present as listed on page 844 in Volume V, these include Washington's portrait on the frontispiece and numerous fold-out maps showing Revolutionary War campaigns. The front free endpapers of each book are owner-signed Peter Trezevant, likely by the prominent antebellum South Carolinian of that name.

Each volume professionally restored and stabilized; tight binding; expected age toning to pages; scattered light foxing; small area of marginal loss to the title page in Volume III. Overall a splendid set.
