Stern, New York, two pages, octavo, reading, in part: "...I entered to Army from West Point on July 1, 1849...and was retired as Major General Oct. 11, 1867. I was engaged in the following battles Corinth, Stone River, Liberty Gap, Chicamauga, Missionary Ridge, Campaign to Atlanta - was wounded May 27, 1864 near New Hope Church Georgia. I was also engaged in the Battle of Nashville Dec 15-16, 1864."
