Etching, signed, dated, titled, and numbered 1/25 in pencil lower margin, for the 1969 Student Exhibition at the William Hayes Ackland Memorial Art Center, Chapel Hill, NC, came to the Ackland Loan Collection in 1970, retains Ackland label to backing, unframed.

Herb Jackson, a nationally-known and -collected North Carolina artist, completed this etching in 1969 while pursuing his M.F.A. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Similar to several other student works offered in this auction, Jackson's etching was part of the 1969 Student Exhibition UNC's Ackland Art Museum and subsequently became part of the Museum's collection. We are thrilled to offer this etching as an example of Jackson's early work.
