15th century, the Buddha Amitabha is depicted in traditional red and seated in dhyanasana on a lotus with his hands resting in his lap in dhyana mudra and holding a gold patra, around him in a lotus petal shaped circle are eight further images of Amitabha, this scene is enclosed within a square with four gates guarded by pairs of ferocious makaras, the outer border is populated with Buddhist dieties, guardians, and lamas, conserved on plexiglass, framed under glass.

DOA 24.5 x 22.25 in.; SS: 16.75 x 14.5 in.
