Circa 1840, probably Philadelphia, three part form, mahogany and flame mahogany veneers, poplar and white pine secondary, removable boldly flared ogee shaped cornice, bookcase section features glazed doors with Gothic mullions above two side by side short drawers, flanked by fully turned columns with heavily figured mahogany veneer. The base has a marble top over a pull-out fall front butler's desk having an interior with six drawers and central vertically hinged prospect above two long drawers, each with rosewood veneer banding to the edge flanked by bold "S" scrolled supports.
