18th-19th century, unmarked octagonal-to-round barrel with 16mm bore, plain lockplate, walnut stock, iron trigger guard, else brass furniture; the most notable feature of this weapon is its sideplate, which is finely engraved with an animated vignette of an aggressive European cavalryman shooting at a fleeing Turk.
