John Birtles, Market Harborough, early 19th century, mahogany, mahogany veneer with light and dark wood inlays, pine secondary, painted metal face with Roman numeral, with second hand and subsidiary date dial, painted panel with shepherdess in forest, arched hood with applied molded cornice and line inlay, hinged glazed door flanked by fully turned columns, case and waist door having repeating oval banded inlays, with reeded corner columns, on flush base, with two weights, clock key, case key and pendulum.

Detached molded edge to front of case; some separation to case; later glass; shrinkage cracks to base of case; some veneer loss and patches; crazing and paint chips to face.
