20th century, pigments on cloth, each herb is identified below the image in Tibetan, a blessing in red script is written on the backside of the painting, hand sewn into a triple border of traditional Tibetan style for thangkas and religious paintings, this is a later painting of a painting from the Blue Beryl, an encyclopedia of Tibetan medicine from the 18th century that had illustrated the body, diseases, and the right plants and herbs to cure illness.
